Why Piano Guild

As many of you already know, I have had many students successfully participate in the National Piano Guild Auditions.  This spring will be the first time I have our New England Students participate.  Over the years, I have had people ask me why I choose to have our students participate in Guild.  Here is a link to an article that I recently found that sums a lot of my ideas up.

Ivory Keys - are they illegal?

Hello Piano Friends!

Do you own a piano?  Do you own a piano with real ivory keys?  If so, you may want to read this article regarding the Obama Administration's ban on the selling and trading of ANY piano with ivory keys.  This post is not meant to be political.  It is only intended to inform piano enthusiasts about the new law.

Nursing Home Recital

Please join me in a huge thank you to our performers who entertained the residents of our local nursing home last Friday evening.  Leo, Charlie, Bridget, Lucy, Lexie, Lily, Isabella, Jonathan, Rachel, Ellie, Grant, and I played a variety of pieces for the residents.  The residents sang along with quite a few of the students' performances.  The residents were a delightful audience who praised and applauded each student.  Following the recital, some of the students and their families joined my family and I for some frozen yogurt.
